Blue Cave Tour from Hvar

We'll be visiting the Blue Cave, a place where sunlight reflects through the sea and colors the whole cave in light blue color. You will hear some interesting stories from the local guide and enjoy the view. In the peak season you might need to wait to get in.
The small authentic fishermen's town of Komiža is our coffee stop. Next is Stiniva, a famous bay unique for its high cliffs where we will stop for swimming and sightseeing.

IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER: we will offer rescheduling or canceling your booking. If you opt for canceling the tour you will receive a full refund.

In some instances, the tour can still be done, but without the Blue cave, which is then substituted with Komiža and the Marine tunnel of Vis,

both of which are captivating sights. Here again, you will be offered the opportunity to cancel or reschedule your tour.

This tour takes you to all the must see locations when in Hvar: Stiniva, Pakleni islands, Green cave, and, of course, the magnificent Blue cave.

Stiniva

Stiniva

The most beautiful beach in Croatia and also once voted the most beautiful beach in Europe. We will make a swim stop here, usually for 30 minutes, so you will have enough time to swim to the shore and maybe even grab a snack or drink in the small beach bar.

Green cave

Green cave

Swim into the famous cave on Ravnik island, known for its emerald color. Its captivating lighting and color make Green cave a perfect snorkeling spot. The entrance to the Green cave is paid 7 to 10 euros extra.

Blue cave

Blue cave

This stunning turquoise sea cave is an absolute must-see! The area is protected and the entrance to the cave is only possible in small boats, which has a fee of about 13 euros. Bear in mind that during high season (July and August) you might have to wait a bit to get in.

Pakleni islands

Pakleni islands

The last stop of our tour is most frequently Palmižana, the most popular bay of Pakleni islands. Here you will have about 2 hours off so you can grab lunch in one of the nearby restaurants, or you can enjoy its sandy beaches and clear turquoise sea.

If there is enough time, your skipper will take you to an additional location to explore some more beautiful beaches of Vis island. Our personal favorites are Pritiscina (depicted above) and Smokova sandy beach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does the Blue cave close sometimes?

The Blue cave has a very small entrance, so sometimes, due to high winds, the sea level goes up and it is not possible to go inside. In those cases we do an alternative location.

Can we get a refund in case of bad weather?

In case of bad weather you can either cancel your tour and get a full refund, or reschedule your tour for the following day. We usually sail even if it rains (and it can be a fun experience), but in case of very strong winds we have to cancel the tour due to safety reasons.

Is there a toilet on the boat?

Some boats have the toilet on board, and some don't. But, there are bathrooms on almost every stop of our tour.

Is there food on the tour?

The food itself is not included, but you are welcome to bring your own, or to go for lunch on our last stop in Palmižana on Pakleni islands.

Can small children go on the tour?

While the tour itself is generally safe, children require extra precaution and the liability rests exclusively upon parents. Small children are allowed to go on the boat, but it is advised against taking babies and strollers on board.

Can I go on the tour if I am not a swimmer?

Non-swimmers can also join the tour and can stay on board on some of the swim stops. For visiting the Blue cave you do not need to swim, also some locations like Stiniva and Green cave can have small dingy that can take you can use to pull yourself to the shore/cave (however this cannot be guaranteed as sometimes they are occupied). There are also life vests on board if you'd like to use them.

Can I bring a camera or other valuables on board?

While people frequently bring their valuables and electronic devices on board and we haven't had any bad experiences, the liability rests with the traveler to take care of her belongings.

Should I bring long-sleeve shirt for the boat ride?

It is absolutely advisable to bring a long-sleeve shirt or a windstopper jacket during May, early June, September or October, as the boat ride can be chilly in those months.

Can I bring alcoholic beverages on the boat?

It is allowed to bring alcoholic beverages on your tour, but please drink in moderation and be respectful to other passengers.

How long is the ride from Hvar to the Blue Cave?

Blue cave is the most distant point of our tour. If we didn't make any stops, it would take us about 1 hour and a half to get to the Blue Cave.

Lunch is not included in the price.
